NO COMBINES TO BE ALLOWED By Tclegraph-Pres- Association.—Copyright Received February 14, 9.30 p.m. Melbourne, Last Night. A deputation assured the Minister of Agriculture that a strong combine existed in the rabbit trade, which prevented independent firms obtaining freezing space. Mr Trefle, in reply, said he was determined that the independent men's occupation should be assured. The Government would not hesitate to do what was necessary, even to the extent of hurriedly directing the freezing works to guarantee i fair field to all legitimate traders. "No combine shall monopolise the market in this country," he asserted. They would not stop at either cost or drastic legislation to stamp out any attempts to combine similar to those existing in America.
