In the return match with Victoria, the home team were disposed of for 245 runs in their first innings, the visitors responding with 324. In their second venture Victoria only made 90, as follows-.—Arm-strong 30, Smith 5, Ransford 3, Matthews 4, Kortlang 10. Warne 16, Kenny 11, Parsons 0, Pitcher 0, Kyle 0, Warkeek 4, extras 7. Requiring but 11 runs to win the visitors hit up the score in 10 minutes, the wickets falling as follows: one for 5, two for 5, Shervvell making the winning hit with a drive for 4, then, all run out.

FOURTH TEST. HORDERN REPLACES MACARTNEY. The fourth test match commences at Melbourne on Friday, 10th inst. With the exception of Hordern in Macartney's place, the team to represent Australia is the same as previously, viz.: C. Kelleway, V. Ransford, W. Bardsley, V. Trumper, D. R. A. Gebrs, C. Hill W. W. Armstrong, H. Carter, A. Cotter, W. J. Whitty, and Hordern. Matthews is twelfth man.
