EMPIRE LIVING PICTURES.

Monday night's Empire Picture show at Te Kuiti was fully equal to the best that has been given by this now popular company. The audience was a very large one, and the management recognises that only the very best pictures are good enough for Te Kuiti. "Buffalo Hunting in IndoChina" was a most realistic, coloured film, depicting the various events in that exciting psort. "A Chanticleer Hat" created roars of laughter, and "Uncle Tom's Cabin," a remarkable dramatisation of Mrs Stowe's wellknown story, was followed with intense interest from start to finish. The troubles of little Eva and the doings of Topsy and Legree wore all shown to the life. Carbine, the wellknown New Zealand race horse was also shown, resting in his old age. On Monday next the company will exhibit "Life on a British Battleshin," a stirring picture of the daiiy routine on board a large warship. "After Many Years," an exciting drama of the early days of America ; "Reedham Boys Drill," the annual tournament of the Reedham Boys' Orphanage; and numerous other line scenic and comic pictures.

THE CALEDONIANS. Jock Willis and company appeared at the Town Hall on Saturday night last. There was only a fair attendance. The programme rendered, however, was well received, nearly every item be ins encored. The sinking of Colin Cameron and Tam McLsan, tenor and bass respectively, was very i'nse, and "Jock" was a host in himself. The concerted items were very much enjoyed by the audience, the harmony of the old songs being well brought out by the company.
