ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER.
A shooting affray occurred at Wharepunga, Kihikihi, on Thursday and resulted in Geo. Washington Long, a farmer of that district, being charged at Te Awamutu Police Court on Friday, with the attempted murder of Thomas Higginson Bond, a neighbour of accused. The victim oil tne affray was shot in the face with a shot-gun. While not out of danger, he is reported to be progressing favourably.
