In asking that a team of bowlers be allowed to travel by a goods train, the following was the concluding paragraph of a letter from Te Awamutu Bowling Club to the traffic manager, Auckland:—"ln considering this request I would respectfully ask your to remember that although we are on a main trunk line, where all trains stop, we cannot travel a yard south till nearly tea time, and the Te Kuiti residents have no outlet north between soon after breakfast time and 2 a.m. the next day. Hence this request,"
