TE KUITI SPORTS CLUB.
■ A meeting of the above club was held in Mr McCoH's rooms last evening. A large amount of routine business was gone through. A letter was received from the New Zealand Athletic Union requesting the Te Kuiti Sports Club to join that union.—lt was resolved that a reply be sent to the union stating that as arrangements for the present season had already been made,the Sports Club could not see its way to join the union a the present time. A sub-committee to control side shows, etc., was appointed. Mr F. Coles was added to the handicappers of the running events. The secretary was instructed to obtain tenders from the Hamilton, Taumaraunui and Oparure bands. The following were appointed a subcommittee to control the social to be held in the evening after the sports: Messrs Jane, Chilcott, Spring and Trinnear. It was decided to ask the shopkeepers and business people to close their premises while the sports were being held.
