The centra] position in which Pio Pio is situated attracted another large attendance of farmers at the third stock sale, held on Wednesdy last, There was a poor demand for sheep although in most cases all lines were sold privately afterwards. Cattle scarcely realised the average ruling rates, but on the whole satisfactory prices were obtained. Messrs Dalgety and Co. yarded 1000 sheep which were mostly 2-tooth ewes a:id wethers, and 100 head of cattle. Two tooth ewes realised up to 17s, and 2 tooth wethers 13s, 18 months to 2 year steers £3 10s to £3 ISs. The Farmers' Auctioneering Company offered <544 head of cattle chiefly comprising steers and heifers. Two year steers realised from £4 4s to £4 10s, 18 mouths to 2 year heifers £P, 6a to £3 10s, eight fat cows brought £5 10s and four dittq £6. A line of 130 2 year to 21 year steers vyere passed in at £4 19s, and another line of 1(51 steers were also passed in gt £i IBs, having failed to reach the owners' reserve. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company yarded 500 Ejheep which were comprised of 2, 4? and 6 tooth ewes and wethers. The line brought from 12s to 133. There were IGS head of cattle offered. Two year steers brought £4, 32 and 16 months steers £3 2s 6d, 18 months heifers £3 Bs, empty cows in fresh condition £3 7s to £4.
