STORM BLOWN OUT.
THE RAIN CEASES. By Telegraph.—Press Assoc!alien.—Copyright Received January 13, 9.20 p.m. Sydney, Last Night. The storm has blown itself out and the rain has ceased. The flood waters caused considerable damage to lowlying suburbs and the gale is responsible for a great amount of havoc to buildings, fences and trees round the city. In the country some phenomenal falls of rain are recorded. At Nowra over thirteen inches fell. The latest reports from Nepean, Hawksbury and other coastal rivers, where heavy floods threatened, show that the water is receding. Arriving vessels report a rough time in the gale. Received January 1 J, 9.10 a.m. Sydney, This Day. The easterly gale late on Thursday night reached a velocity of 85 miles an hour, which is the worst experienced for many years. It is remarkable a3 being onlv the easterly gale ever recorded in Sydney.
