AUCKLAND WOOL SALES.
As was anticipated the second wool sales of the season showed a drop in prices as compared with the November sales. The bidding was not so spirited, and a large proportion of the wool was passed in, the prices offering net agreeing with the growers' ideas. The sales took place in the Chamber of Commerce, and there was present practically the same bench of buyers that attended the first sales. Speaking generally there was a drop of from a farthing to a peniry in the wool, which, as far as quality is concerned, was not equal to the November offerings. This is generally expected, as the wool handy to the market is usually cleaner and of better quality than the iots which have come from more distant districts. The sale was opened by the Loan and Mercantile, for whom Mr Norman Sommerneld offered 2457 bales, and then followed Messrs Alfred Buekland and Sons (Mr Brooks) 2170 bales, Dalgety and Co. and tlie Farmers' Union (Mr A. E. Crane) 1995 bales, and Messrs G. W. Binney and Sons (Mr E. Binney) 704 bales, a total of 7bales. In the coarse kinds of wool the clrup in price would be from a farthing to a halfpenny, and finer sorts up to a penny.
