COMPLAINTS FROM AUSTRALIA

By Telegraph.—Press Assoeiation.-Copyright Received January 7, 1.5 a.m. Melbourne, Last Night.

The Minister for Customs has interviewed the Hon. George Fowlds, regarding customs administration as between New Zealand and Australia, also regarding reciprocal trade, and drew special attention to the complaints by some Federal members last session that the treaty between South Africa and New Zealand was giving a decided preference to South African wines. Imports from Australia had fallen in the last three years, from sixty-six thousand gallons to fifty-one thousand and imports from South Africa had increased from practically nil to seventeen thousand gallons. Mr Fowlds promised that the matter should have consideration later.
