Mr John Bums, President of the Local Government Board, intends to issue an order on the lines of the Departmental Committee's recommendations, issued yesterday in favour, inter alia, of reviving the distinction between able-bodied and non-able-bodied paupers, and empowering Guardians to give out-door relief, subject to the performance of certain tasks.
