ROBBERS IN STEAMSHIP OFFICES.
By Telegraph.—l'res- O-'pyriglit Received January 4, 9 a.m. Hobart, This Day, Some burglars made a daring attempt to rob the Union Steamship Company's office. They entered the window, and after a fruitless attempt to force two doors, ransacked the tills and drawers without getting anything. They inserted two charges of dynamite in the key hole of the strong room door, and blew it off its fastening, but the lock remained intact. The robbers were evidently alarmed at the noise of the explosion, and left the building without any further attempt to finish their work, or securing any booty.
The charwoman, in the morning found the office full of smoke. No arrests have been made.
