Prince Francis of Teck is the bachelor brother of the Queen. He jg still on the sunny side of 40, and over six feet in height, and every inch a soldier. As Major of the First Dragoons he roughed it during the South African war, where he won the D.S.O. He also distinguished himself in the Soudan campaign, when he was singled out for special commendation by Lord Kitchener. Since his retirement from the Army the Prince has devoteed himself largely to motoring interests. Essentially a club man, Prince Francis is often to be found at the Bachelors or the Beefsteak.

The latest fish story comes from Scotland. The pastor.had been telling the boys in the Sabbath school the story of the flood, and after explaining all about the animals —two of a kind —and so on, he said: "Now, what do you suppose Noah did while he was in the ark?" "I wad think he wad be fish'm'," answered one little chap. "Yes," said the pastor, "a very sensible conclusion to arrive at, considering the circumstances.". "I'm thinkin' he wudna be catchin' muckle fish," added the boy. "Why not. in such a vast expanse of water," said the pastor, curious to know what the lad was driving at. "Becos," responded the boy, "he had but twa wurms!"
