THE REFERENDUM.
ANOTHER UNOPPOSED RETURN.
London, Yesterday,
The Opposition papers taunt the Government supporters with opposing the referendum because it will destroy the system of groups and the coaleecing of factions, as witnessed in recent years.
There arc 36 Jewish candidates, i'O Liberals and 1(5 Unionists. In two London constituencies the candidat'S are all Jewish.
Mr Haworth, member for South Manchester, was re-elected unopposed, as Mr Gla;:cbroook, his Unionist opponent, mistaking the time, arrived six minutes too late to bo nominated.
Owing to the absence of the Socialist candidate, and the impossibility of correcting his nomination paper, a three-cornered contest in WeHt Salford will be avoided.
