THE LORDS ON THE PROBLEM.
Lord Loreburn, denying Lord St. Aldwyn'a allegation that the Government is dishonest and seeking by an indirect method to obtain Home Rule, admitted he hoped to see Home Rule as a result of some general election* He emphasised the importance of solving the Home Rule problem in regard to the United States and the Dominions,where a large number of Irish blood arc devoted to Ireland. Tho dissolution would settle the relations of the two Houses and redress admitted grievances. The Government would abide by tho country's verdicl. Lord Curzon Baid the Unionist alternative policy would present to tho Country a Second Chamber, which was no Constitutional figment. If he indulged in prophesy he would stake his whole political existence on the declaration that tho final adjustment was more in tho direction of their resolutions than the Government's Bill.
