The advertisement of the Tourist Department for a fish-curer and assistant marks a new departure, states the "Eotorua Times." Effort is going to be made to minimise the waste of good, edible fish which goes on in the season. The question of handling and retailing fish is a very complex one, involving a great deal of consideration, [f the trout fisheries are not to develop into a pot-boiling institution for the support of indigent anglers, much discrimination will have to be used. If the proposed depot will receive and forward fish given by sportsmen to various institutions, such as the Auckland Hospital and kindred institutions, it will have served one good purpose.
