The Town Clerk has received the very gratifying news that the State Guaranteed Advances Board has provisionally approved an advance to Te Kuiti Borough of .5:27,275 at H per cent, per annum, secured on a special rate of L'.Jd in the £ on the capital value of all rateable properties in the Borough. The only items for which a loan was declined ,werc £225 for the erection of a fire station and £2OOO for the lighting scheme. These two refusals were fully anticipated, and there will be no difficulty whatever in raising the £2225 privately.
