FIRE BRIGADE.

A meeting of Te Kuiti Fier Brigade was held in the "Chronicle" office on Monday night, his Worship the Mayor presiding. A resolution that the statement of accounts and documents handed to the Town Clerk by the late treasurer, Mr Hattaway, bo accepted, and "matters as regards the old brigade be closod, was carried.

The Mayor explained that later oh offices for the borough might be combined with a reading room and library and a small hall for meetings. The following new members were elected:- -Messrs C. Scolt, VV. Cantlon, J. Rutherford, H. Vause, A. Hope and L. Quirk. Mes3rs Young and Jones moved thßt the superintendent, secretary and treasurer arrange a night of meeting with the Fire Brigade Committee. - Carried. A vote of thanks to the Mayor kv presiding concluded the meeting. j
