-* - Messrs Dalgety and Co., Hamilton, report : We held our monthly sale in the Matamata yards on Tuesday, 6th inst.when a full yarding of cattle came for, ward comprising some choice 2 year steers, also 3 year steers and dairy cattle. The attendance was very good, especially being an off-day, and the sale all through was very spirited, and good prices were realised. We quote:—2 to 3 year steers £4 12-) 6d, 2 year steers £4 2s 6cl, IS month steers £3 17s, yearling steers £2 5s 6d to £2 16s, mixed yearlings, small 275, heifer yearlings 21s, cows in calf £7 to £9 ss, springing heifers £6 10s to £6 17s 6d, backward £5 2s 6d to £6 2s, pigs, slips 14s to 18s, weaners 8s to 10s 6d. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Auckland, report as under on their Westfield fat stock market:—Beef —A good yarding, Prices were in some cases equal to last week, others were slightly lower. Choice pens ox sold at equal to 30s per hundred, ordinary and plain ox at 24s to 28s per hundred. Veal—A full yarding sold at late rates. Mutton—A small yarding. Prices were much the same as last week. Choice heavy wethers 26s to 31s, medium quality 20s to 25s Gd, choice heavy ewes to 28s, light and unfinished 16s to 18s. Lamb- Good fat hoggets fetched up to 21s 6d, medium 13s to 17s, spring lambs, best quality up to 20s 9d, good 17s to 19s, light 13s to 16s Gd. Pork Average yarding. Light porkers sold at equal to 4}d per lb, heavy equal to 3Jd.
