In relation to the subject, of securing qualified nurses for the back-blocks (which recently came up for consideration at a meeting of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce), it was pointed out at. the last meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board that the Government, were making provision in this direction. Free tuition and training for two probationers are to to be irranlcd at each of the State Maternity Home;-, under the condition that applicants are to undertake to practice for two years in the backblocks after qualification. The Waikato Board stated that candidates from the King Country would receive spceial recommendation,
