At the Supreme Court James Alfred Lindsay, charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of Lewis Sheard, who was killed by injuries sustained by a fall in Wellington street on August Bth, was found not guilty and discharged. Accused stated that deceased was improperly interfering with his little daughter, and he snatched her away and pulled deceased over. Accused said he was wcry excited and did not remember if he afterwards struck Sheard.
