SERIOUS FIRE AT DEVONPORT.

(By Telegraph.-—Press Association). Auckland, This Day. A serious conflagration occurred yesterday afternoon at King's Parade. Devonport, which resulted in the total destruction of Ventnor House, a boarding house of thirty-two rooms, and four dwellings. Three other places were damaged. Ventnor House and one dwelling was owned by A. Watson. Both were insured for £2270, and the furniture of Ventnor House for £BSO. Three houses owned by (be Auckland Grammar School were insured for £I2OO.
