A case of some interest was decided in the Magistrate's Court at Hamilton yesterday. Lane, livery stables keeper, requested Gleeson, as a favour, to bring in horses. One of the horses was in a paddock surrounding the rented house of McLennan, who also had a horse running in the paddoclc. Plaintiff swore that the gate was securely shut, but defendant said it was open when he went there, and that he left it open. McLeiman's horse got out at the same time as Lane's, • and McLennnn's horse has since disappeared, Plaintiff claimed .t'S damages, and he obtained judgment with £4 costs.
