The Farmers' Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: — At Waihou on Friday, July Ist, we held our usual monthly stock sale, when the yarding totalled 536* cattle and 810 sheep. There was a good deand prices were firm right through. Fat wethers 16s 6d (small) to 26s fld, fat ewes 14s 6d, fat hoggets lis, store hoggets 7s 7d to 8s Bd, ewes in lamb 13s 3d to 14s 6d; fat steers £6 5s to £8 15s, fat cows and heifers £5 5s to £7 10s, aged cows £4 10s to £5, a line of 130 store 3J to 4$ year well-bred bullocks averaged £5 10s, 2 and 2\ year steers £4 6s, 18 months empty heifers £2 15s to £3, choice yearling steers £2 to £2 13s, mixed yearlings 35s to 455, smaller sorts 25s to 30s.
On Saturday, July 2nd, we held a clearing sale at Shaftesbury on behalf of Mr W. H. Herries, when, notwithstanding the bad weather, there was a good attendance and competition for everything. Draught mares made from £23 10s to £3l 10s, draught foal £ls, two hack £l4 each, colt £6, rqbber-tyred sulky and harness £34, fowls 4s to 4s 6d each, waggon £lO 10s, roller £lO ss, other implements and furniture usual rates. On Saturday, July 2nd, we held a clearing 3ale on behalf of Mr Peter Wilson at his farm, Piako road, near Hamilton. The stock was good and in good condition. Forty-one dairy cows averaged just on £7 10s, medium draught horses made £2O 10s to £29, unbroken colt £l3 10s, 2 light horses £7 2s 6d and £8 10s, sheep 14s 3d and 16s, gig £l7 10s, waggon £lB 15s, spring cart £7, drill £l2 10s, mower £ll 10s, rake £B, d f. plough £9 15s. chain harrows £4 ss, s.f. plough £3 10s, breeding sows £3 to £3 15s, sundries and other implements usual rates.
