Evolution from a King Country standpoint:—A local land agent met a Native over a ]and deal. Native: "You got the land to sell?" Land agent: "Oh, yes." Native: "I want the town block, but don't want the 'plooming'lease, I want the freehold." Being shown a piece of freehold by the agent, be immediately purchased, and departed, saying: "Kapai the freehold; no rent." Surely this is evidence of the dawning of a new era.
