Inadequate Railway Station Accommodation.
To the Editor. Sir,—Permit me to congratulate -you on your forcible remarks anent tbe great lack of accommodeation at ;the local railway station and the inconrvenierse caused* by people having to run ti>|fcgasntlet of two and oceasionlines of trucks to get to the platform. I consider that such a state of things would not be tolerated by the people of any other town in the Dominion under similar circumstances. Not only in the interests of the public but in those of the railway staff more accommodation should be immediately provided at the railway station, as privacy in carrying on the work of the station is absolutely impossible under the -present conditions. I trust the Minister of Railways, who is willing to do his best to remedy grievances in connection with railway affairs, will not be prevented by the closeness of the Parliamentary session from doing immediate justice to the claims which you, Mr Editor, so well enunciated in your issue of Saturday last. —I am, etc., E. H. PETHERICK.
