PIO PIO CO-OP. DAIRY CO.

The statutary meeting of the above company was held at the company's registered office on Saturday, May 14th, and a large number of suppliers attended, in spite of the bad weathar. Mr P. O'Dvvyer, chairman of directors, presided, and in opening the meeting ,gave a short address in reference to our dead king, and at the close of the 'address all present stood with bowed heads in silence to show their deep 'regret. The chairman then gave a full account of the directors' stewardship for the past twelve months, which showed that they had not been idle. He then explained that the directors had postponed the laying of the foundation stone, owing to the weather, and read the following telegram from W. T .-Jennings, M.P. for the district:—"l ' congratulate tne ~ r pmne&fh of Paemako, Pio Pio, Mairoa and adjacent districts on the occasion to-day of laying the foundation stone of the dairy" factory. To our Maori friends and naw comers in the district, I wish to share with them the pleasure on this occasion." It was decided to lay the foundation stone on May 25th at 2 o'clock, and the member has promised to perform the ceremony. The settlers will supply refreshments and a big day is expected to finish with a social at Paemako in the evening. All present seemed determined to make it a success. After that part of the meeting was done with the chairman explained'that according to law all the directors had to resign, but were eligible for reelection. It was unanimously decided that the same directors be re-elected. The following are the names: —Messrs P. O'Dwyer, Geo. J. Bevege, H. G. Andrews, James Gladow, G. T. Dunne, C. T. Johnston, P. Tarrant.

The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.

The directors met after the statutory meeting and Mr P. O'Dwyer was reelected chairman of directors.
