Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Auckland, have received the following cable from their London Oflicc, under date 6th inst.,:—"Butter— Buyers are holding back expecting to do better later on. Nominal quotation exce))tional qualities Australian salted 100s, other 104s; New Zealand finest salted 108s." Mes3rs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Auckland, report having held their Wostfield fat stock sale on Wednesday as under :-- Beef—An average yarding. Competition was hardly so keen as last week. Prime ox averaged about 21s per lOOlbs, cow and heifer 10s to 18s. Mutton—A small yarding. Trices were fully a shilling a head better than last week for good wethers, ewe-4 being about the same as previous sale. Prime wethers extra heavy fetched up to 18s 9d, ordinary weights, prime His to 17s, ewes up to 12s. Lamb -A fair yarding of mostly inferior quality and stores. Prime shorn fetched up to 13s, medium quality !>3 to lis, small shorn lambs (is to 7s, culls :5s to 4s Ikl.
