OHURA COUNTY COUNCIL. CONSOLIDATED BY-LAW, 1910. ||k~ DY-LAW made by the Ohura County _D Council under and by virtue of "The Counties Act, 1886," and its amendments, "The Public Works Act, 1908," and all other Acts and power? whatever enabling it in that behalf; to come into force on the first day of June, 1910. INTRODUCTORY. 1. This By-law may be cited or referred to as "The Consolidated Bylaw, 1910," and shall come into force on the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and shall apply to the whole of the Ohura County. 2. In thi3 By-law, except where inconsistent with the context: — "Cattle" includes any horse, mare, gelding, colt, filly or foal; any bull, cow, ox, steer, heifer or calf; any ram, ewe, wether or lamb; and any ass, mule, goat, boar, sow or other pig. "County" means the Ohura County. "Council" means the Ohura County Council. "County Clerk" means the Clerk of the Ohura County Council. "Heavy Traffic" means (a) The transportation of any vehicle, engine or machine which itself, or.together with • any thing or things being transported thereon, weighs more than one and a-half tons avoirdupcys to one pair of wheels; and two and a-half tons to two pairs of wheels; (b) The traction of any vehicle or thing by means of bullocks, notwithstanding that such vehicle or thing may separately or together with any load thereon weigh less than one and a-half tons avoirdupois; (c) Any traffic which may from time to time be declared "heavy traffic" by Order-in-Council. HEAVY TRAFFIC. 3. No person shall conduct or engage in "heavy traffic" as defined in this By-law on any road within the County at any time during the months of May, June, July, August and September in any year. 4. No person shall conduct or engage in "heavy traffic" as defined in this By-law over any road in the County, unless and until such person shall have entered into a bond with the Chairman, Councillors and Inhabitants. of the County, to secure payment to them of the cost of repairing and making good, to the satisfaction of the Council, any special damage caused by such heavy traffic. And such bond shall be in the sum of two hundred pounds with two sureties. 5. For the purpose of computing the Weight of any load, for the purposes of this By-law, the following quantities t)f the materials hereinafter mentioned shall be deemed to be of the weight set opposite to them, respectively: — (~1 f~) »« r,-, ODOOOrJ 6. The width of the tires of any vehicle driver or used upon any road shall bear the following proportions to the number of animals employed to draw such vehicle, that is to say: Vehicles with 2 wheels.
