Drury Branch.

At the annual meeting of the Drury branch, held on April 16th, the following remits to the Provincial Conference were passed:—(a) That - this branch urges the Provincial Conference the desirability of forming a Cooperative Trading Association as soon as possible; (b) that the conference urge upon the Railway Department the need for more care to be taken in the handling "and carriage of dead pigs, also eggs and other produce; pork should-be hung upon hooks and not packed in a heap upon the floor of the truck; (c) this branch urges that all travellers on the railway south of Papakura should have the benefit of the cheap fares between Papakura and Auckland. During the meeting, Mr A. Schmitt, provincial secretary, gave a short address, pointing out the many reasons why farmers should unite. Mr Flanagan reported what had already been done in regard to the Cooperative Association's formation. Mr Flanagan was re-elected president, Mr Batley vice-president, and Mr Fielding secretary, for the ensuing year. Several new members were elected.
