OHURA VALLEY.
Own Correspondent. The annual meeting of the Ohura Medical Association was held in the Mangaroa Hall on the evening of the 30th of March. Mr Denison, secretary, read the annual statement of accounts, which showed a debit balance of £3B, against which was a sum of £7B uncollected fees due to the Association. On the medical officer's residence a sum of £IOO had been repaid to the Building Society and improvements on the sections had been paid for to the amount of £7O. Owing to the death of Dr Rowlands he had not been able to have the accounts audited, but would arrange before next meeting. It was moved by Mr Woods, Niho Niho, seconded by Mr Bruce, Mangaroa, that the balance-sheet be accepted subject to being confirmed by the auditor. —Carried. Messrs McKinder, Waitangaia; Geange, Tatu; Reneison, Mahorahora; Murphy,. Tokirima; Sandison, Niho Niho; Beresford, Tongaporutu; Robinson, Mangaroa; Clark, Waitewhena; and Aves, were elected the committee for the epsuing year. A meeting of the committee was held after the general meeting, at which Mr Sandison was re-elected president and Mr Denison secretary, at a salary of £25 per annum.
At a special meeting of the Ohura Council on the evening of the 2nd inst., the by-laws were finally adjusted and contract for Mahorahora road let to G. Haggie at £42. The date of next ordinary meeting was altered to the 26th April. Mr T. O'Donnel gave a housewarming party to a large number of his friends on the evening of the 2nd inst., a most enjoyable time being spent.
