THE KING COUNTRY CHRONICLE. Wednesday, April 6, 1910 THE BOROUGH.

The announcement of the formal incorporation of the Borough of Te Kuiti as from Apirl Ist, at last settles the difficult "position under which the constantly growing township has been labouring. The urgent need for large public improvements within the Borough will be duly brought before the notice of aspiring Councillors and the Mayor that h to be, and given a sense of loyal co-operation amongst the members of the Council, we shall hope to find rapid progress being made in the direction of roading, draining lighting and sanitation. The new Council will have many problems to face, but none which an intelligent public spirit is incapable of overcoming. We congratulate the citizens of Te Kuiti upon their new status, and trust and believe the Borough of Te Kuiti will haye every prosperity. The district is rapidly growing. New settlers and new townspeople reach it almost daily. We have faith in our county and our people. Such a spirit amongst the whole of us should do much to make for a progressive Borough. The surroundings of Te Kuiti are beautiful in themselves. Nature is always lovely, a-nd only man spoils it. The new Borough should be made hygienic, sanitary and beautiful, and just so far as these ideals are realised shall we attract, not only a business community, but a resident population. Success to the Borough!
