PAEMAKO.
Own Correspondent. Fine weather was experienced for the Mangaotaki picnic, which was held on a picturesque spot on the banks of the Mangaotaki river. During the day all sorts of games were played and the children ran races. In the evening a dance was held in Mr W. Daly's house which proved a great success. Everybody went home tired but happy after their day's and evening's outing. The settler-5 are very busy preparing fsed for their stock in winter and spring and some of them are setting the ground ready for the factory site. I hope they wlil get all the requirements for the erection of the factory before the weather breaks. The Paemako school is closed for the Easter holidays. This school has an average attendance of twenty-three on the roll.
There are a number of new buildings going up which means that the settlement must be improving daily. I am pleased to learn that Mrs Evans is improving splendidly. ,
