SEA BATHING PERILS.

At the recent International Congress of Applied Chemistry in London Professor Kenwood said the question had often been raised whether seabathing iu contaminated water might not be dangerous. A period of twenty-four hours might suffice for sewage contamination in a very diluted form to reach several miles from its outfall, and laboratory experiments indicated that typhus bacilli could survive several days in seawater ; so that there is another seaside peril to circumvent, besides the many we have already been warned about.
