DISTRICT ROAD WORKS.
By Telegraph. Wellington, Friday. The matter of pushing on the road works in the Taumarunui electorate was fo-cibly brought under the notice of the Premier and the Minister of Public Works yesterday at Wellington by Mr Jennings, Member for the district. The Member was informed that instructions to carry out authorised work with a!! expedition had been issued to the Department. The chief works authorised were the Te KuitiAwakino road, £1732, for metalling, to be done by the Department; Ohura road construction, £3590, to be carried out by local bodies in Ohura and Whangamomona Counties. Among other grants were Kiwi road, £329; Pomorangi road, £513; Manganui road, £SS7; Waikawa road extension, £193; Awakino Valley road, £172.
