The Farmers' Aucioneering Company, Ltd., repors:— At Matiere on Tuesday, January 25th, we had a yarding of 739' head of cattle and 2,995 sheep. The cattle were as choice a lot as we have had yarded for a considerable time, the majority being forward well-bred two and a half years upwards. All classes met a ready sale, and hardly a beast was passed in. Forward conditioned 3£ year old steers, £5 lis to £6 3s, and few fat and forward four and five year bullocks £6 10s to £7 10s; choice three year old steers, in good order, £5 to £5 7s 6d; two to two and a half year steers, £4 to £4 lis; 18months steers to £3; two year heifers, £2 15s to £3; frpsh coy/s, £§ to £3 10s; fat co\vs, £4 tQ 44405; weaner calves, lgs tp 255; s.mall- 2tooth ewes, 12s; fresh full mouth ewes, 10s to lis 3d; ewes and lamb 3, all counted, 6s; cull ewes, 7s,
At Ohaupo on Tuesday we had a yarding of 455 head of cattle, mostly cattle from two and a half years old and younger. Prices were fairly good, consequently with the exception of a few odd cattle all were sold. Two and a half year old steers sold from £4 to £4 ss; two year steers, £8 7? to £3 12s 6d; lSmonths steers, £2 17s to £3 Is; extra good steer calves, £1 lis 6d; fair calves, 21s 6d to 23s 6.d; fat and forward aged cows, £3 6s to £4; store to fresh aged cows, £2 3s to £2 15s.
At Ngaruawahia on Wednesday we had only a small yarding, 200 head of cattle. Fresh conditioned two year old steers made £4 12s 6d; good calves, 22s to 275; store cows, £2 7s to £2 15s; yearling steers. £1 19s to £2 ss; choice dairy heifer 3 in calf, £3 12s 6d; dairy cows forward in calf, £5 15s; bulls, £3 to £4; two year steers, £3 7s to £3 12a 6(1, " '
