Dyed leghorn hats are in curious colourings and trimmed principally with loops of black velvet ribbon. A new shade of silk for summer goWns is a compromise between pink and brown. In shantung this colour seems to take on alluring rose petal tints. Cuffs and collars of black velvet are seen on straight, plain coats of. light material. Some novel belts £*re of cretonne, piped with delft blue linen and fastened with pearl buckles, j Satin-covered cord is used" in much the same manner as braid, which at times it replaces. Medallions of net, worked and outlined with narrow braid, are seen on some smart coats of linen. Similar net entirely covers stiff hat shapes with broad brims, which are tied with wide sash ribbons.
Among the pretty hair ornaments for evening wear is a one-circle of metal lace, through which is run a ribbon.
