Te Kuiti Loan : The Secretary of the Treasuary wrote stating that the special order in respect to the Te Kuiti loan had been gazetted. Loan applied for: The Secretary to the Treasury wrote stating that the moneys for loans to Local Bodies for the year had been exhausted and the I £SOO loan applied for could not be ; granted at present. Settlers Petition: The settlers on the Otorohanga-Pirongia road forwarded a petition to the Minister of Public Works asking for the Council's recommendation to the same. The petition requested that a sum of £4OO j be granted for metalling the Otorc- i hanga-Pirongia road to enable milk to be delivered to the factory. On the motion of Cr Gregg seconded by Cr Were it was decided to recommend the petition. Kiokio Road: A letter was received from Wallace Bros, calling attention to the bad state of the road and requesting the Council to do some work on it. Cr Gregg explained that the road had been graded in bad wheather and had subsaquently become very bad. There were some nasty hole 3 and the road was an important one: it should receive attention. On the motion of Cr Johnston seconded by Cr Hoffman the matter was left in the hands of the Councillor for the riding to deal with, j On the motion of Cr Gregg seconded j by Crßoddie it was decided to instruct ; the Engineer to prepare an estimate ! with a view to raising a loan for metalling the road to the creamery and railway station. Te Kuiti-Awakino road : ihe Minister for Public Works wrote acknowledging receipt of plans and estimates for metalling work and stating the same had been forwarded to the Department's Engineers for the usual action. Hauturu road: With reference to the road between Oamaru and Kihikihi junctions, Cr Hoffman stated he had put a man on to do the most necessary work. —Confirmed Noxious Weeds: The Inspector wrote drawing attention to the weeds growing on the Esplanade, Te Kuiti. —Received. A disputed road: Mr Hine, Solicitor, wrote on behalf of Mr J. Smith concerning the road applied for by Mr Lever through Mr Smith's property. The chairman explained be had met Mr Hine and Mr Lever and there was no hope of an amicable arrangement. He had signed an application for a 1 >< ; foot road on behalf of the Councii. Letter Received.
