j Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, J Auckland, report having held thier usual weekly tat stock sain at Westfield on Wednesday 35th instant: Beef:—'A large yarding. Choice pens of prime ox sold at up to 20s per IGP lbs. ordinary ox to 19s per 1001b. Cow and heifer 16s to )*a per lOlhs. Sheep:—Very large yarding. Prices were Is to 2s per bead lower than last week for good heavy wether;?. Extra good fetched to 17s ?.d. Heavy 14s to 15s. Medium to 13s Od. Extra good ewes up to J4« 6d, heavy to 13s Gd. On Thursday at WcFtfield we offered i and sold a number of stor.? steers. 2 1-2 to 3 1-2 year olds fetched ta £4 \ 7s r.d; 2 year c!d steers to £3 7s 6d. We cold a small herd of dairy cows at ' full market rates. Young cows in j ! milk and close to profit fetched up l<» £•1; medium sorts £-1 Ms to £5 15s: aged ditto to £3 15s. We had a fairly good yarding of cattle in Cambridge yards consisting mostly of young steers and heifer?, for which there was a good demand. Forward cows also solicited a fair amount of competition. The attendance was somewhat small on account of big sales being held in other parts of the district However, nearly all were buyers and keen bidding was th.« order of the day. We quote as follows:- 3 year steers £sSf6d; 18 month steers (mail) £2 •Is; forward cows £3 l°s to £1; 13 month heifer* £3 6s to £3 10s; yearling heifers £3; calves £1 Is 6d; bulls 4 guineas. On Saturday the ISth intsant wc held our monthly stock sale in the Tc Awamutu yards, when there was a full yar ling of cattle and pigs for which there was a good competition.
