At a well attended meeting of farmers held under the auspices of the Gisbornc branch of the Farmers' Union, the following resolution was carried: —"That in the opinion of this meeting the lime has arrived for the farmers throughout the whole Dominion to make a united move to secure better regulation and control of the frozen meat trade, and, with that object, this meeting approves of the following suggestions: A—That steps should be taken to concentrate oar exports of meat to one depot in London: b —to regulate shipments so far as possible from the Dominion to suit requirements and stocks held in London and afloat; c—to obtain legislation compelling all freezing works to grade up to a uniform Government standard, and to have the meat valued at Home by the High Commissioner's staff, in the pair.e manner that butter and cheese are now graded and valued.
