The court has been re-tarred and sanded, and now presents an excellent playing surface. A team consisting of Mrs Worm, Miss W. Johnson, and Messrs Seymour, McCracken and Hayson journeyed to Otorobanga last Saturday week, and was succe-tsful against the team opposed to it, although it is only fatr to add that Oto's. two best players were incapaciiated bj illness and unable to play. As soon as arrangements can be made a match will be played at Te Kuitt.
Mr J. Allan's waltzing competition laat Friday week in the local hall drew a good crowd, and a fair number of local waltzers competed. Mr Dcolan, from Taumarunui, however, won rather easily, with Mr C. Carroll second. Mr J. Allan acted as judge. Another competition was held at a dance which the men of Parekura got up at the Tiroa Hall on Friday night last. Great credit is due to the Parekura-ites for the successful entertainment provided. A party of Mangapehi ladies and gentlemen journeyed op on truck* to Tiro* for the occasion the trip taking about two hours. The halt was tastefully decorated and the floor was eminently satisfactory. The competition drew a good number of entries, twelve couplea competing, and, after a good struggle, was eventually won by Mtss Nftaire Mayne and Mr Doolan. Messrs Dowdell, Joyce and Hayson acted as judges. The dance broke op at about a.m. the Mangapehi party arriving home about a.m.
