FIRE BRIGADE.

♦ A meeting of the Te Kuiti Fire Brigade was held on December 6th, 1909, at the residence of Mr Pitcon. The following officers and members were present: Capt. Ford, Foreman Nicholson, Firemen Pitcon, Jane, Fitzmaurice, Parris. Capt. Ford occupied the chair. Owing to the secretary being absent, Fireman Jane was appointted secretary, pro. tem. —Fire Alarm. —- Proposed by Fireman Nicholson and seconded by Fireman Fitzmauricc that Capt. Ford and Fireman Jane go into the matter of providing a suitable fire alarm.—Carried. —Resignation.— Mr Williams having sent in hi 3 resignation as secretary and member of the brigade, Foreman Nicholson proposed and Fireman Pitcon seconded that the resignation be accepted subject to the books and accounts being audited. —Election of Secretary.— Fireman Pitcon proposed and Foreman Niclolson seconded that Fireman. Harry Jane be appointed to the position of Secretary, being the only nomination. —Capt. Ford declared Fireman Jane duly elected. Foreman Nicholson moved and Fireman Pitcon seconded that the resolution on the books re commtitee to draw up rule 3 be rescinded and that Secretary Jane be requested to draft a list of suitable rules for the brigade and submit same to a future meeting.— Carried. Proposed by Capt. Ford and seconded ; by Fireman Fitzmaurice that the secretary write to the bank requesting that the name of Harry Jane be entered in their books to sign choauos ir. eonjun :- tion with F. M.
