CORRESPONDENCE.
-~+ To the Editor. W Sir. -1 read in Monday's- issue of your valuable paper a notice calling a meeting on the Ilth test., at year office to consider arrangements for Annual sports for 1910. I would like to offer a suggestion to any committee which . may be appointed to carry out the programme. We have now in our midst a newly formed volunteer Fire Brigade and if a Fire Briagde competition event could be provided for en the sports programme it would be an inducement to the firemen to put in some solid training which would tend to create great enthusiasm in the brigade work and at the same time the efctra knowledge of their work obtained by systematic training would be of great benefit to the residents of the town in thf event of a ftre talcing place. The motives for which this body of men have volunteered their services are worthy of every encouragement. Trusting you will favour by inserting these few lines and may we hope to see a successful sports gathering with our firemen amongst it. In anticipation. -I am, etc., HARRY JANE.
