Tbc opening of the new Court of tbc Te Awamutu Tennis Ciub was held here ot> Wednesday, 24tb inaU, about 100 vistiors being present. Tbe chairman of the Town Board, J. B. Teasdale, Esq., in the absence of tbe President, spoke in an appropriate maimer. He Stated opt that tbe dob bad increased f membership daring the past five years from 12 to at present 80. These figures spoke for tbe satisifactory advance made by the Club. As a representative of the Town Board be expressed pleasure at tbe way the committee waa improving tbe section, wbicb bad amply rewarded tbe support given by the Town Board to the Club. After wishing the club continued success, be called on Mesdames Galbraith and Von Sturmcr, and Messr* Woods and Dr Henderson to play the opening set.
