Referring, in bis Budget speech, to wireless telegraphy, Sir Josehp Ward raid:—l im of the opinion that considerable developements are likely to take place within the next twelve month*, and this coontry should wait and obtain the best system obtainable. Three wireless stations should be erected in New Zealand of sufficient power to enable communication to be made with Australia, and for a radios of about 1200 miles from the extreme north of the mainland; and simultaneously legislation providing for the establishment of the wireless system on passenger steamers trading from the Dominion should be passed. I hope to be in a position to lay definite proporfifs before Parliament next ***- aim. Inspector Scrnside's report on Te Kuiti school which was inspected Isst month, i« of a highly favourable nature. The report says that good methods generally are adopted throughout the school and excellent progress has been made. The discipline and tone of the school are also op to a high standard.
