WAIKATO BOXING ASSN.
Judging by the entries a very successful tournament will be held by the Waifcato Boxing Association in the Hamilton Town Hal) on Tuesday evening next. Tha list is fairly representative of the districts included for the Waifcato amateur championships, and several very evenly matched pairs will take part. The names of all those competing in the open events are not yet available as some of them have to come down from Auckland, but so far J. Yonge, Huntly; W. Hogg, Hamilton; and C. W. Hetlescoe, Auckland, are taking part. For .the Watikato championships the following entries have been received: W. Haddock, Waikino; J. Yonge, HunUy; H. O'Haltoran. Waikino: M. Scott, Hamilton; W. Hogg.Hamilton; W.Wright, Waikino; D. Scott, Hamilton; J. Chocqoeel, Hamilton; N. Roche, Hamilton; A. E. Bromwich, Ohinemuri; McClennan, Cambridge; D. Pretty, Hamilton. In addition to these there wilt be one or two six round boots between Auckland and Waibi amateurs, and a coupe of contests between Auckland light or feather weights. The star item is the match between ! Gaott, of Auekand, and Harcomb, of i Marlborough, for the best of ten ! rounds and a purse presented by the ; Association, and this in itself will be J sufficient to draw a crowd, judging by I the performances and records of the j men. Particular interest is centred in ; the fact that leading amateurs from . Auckland and Waibi are coming down i to take part, and a crowded noose is anticipated. Prices and particulars 1 are contained in our advertising columns to-day.
