THE ROADS DEPUTATION.
Reception at Wellington. The deputation from Te Kuiti and outdistricts which was appointed to proceed to Wellington in connection with road matters left Te Kuiti by the 2 e.m. express on Friday. The deputation consisted of Major Losk.Te Kuiti; Messrs Elliott, Piopio; King. Ratanoi; and Rose. Marofcepa. Mr Boddie, who was appointed along with Major Lusk to represent Te Kuiti was unfortunately unable to join tbe party. The delegates arrived at Wellington on Friday evening, and were fortunate in securing an interview with the Minister for Public Works on Saturday morning. The following wire was received from Mr Elliott regarding the reception of the deputation en Saturday:— "The Minister cordially received the deputation this morning, and agreed to place all monies for expenditure in the hands of the Coon ty Council, the County Engineer to furnish estimates smmediatey for proposed work.
