Messrs Dalgety und Company, rejwrt having held their usual monthly sale in the Te Awamutu yards on Saturday last the 22nd September, when they offered a good yarding of cattle, sheep and pigs to a large attendance. With the exceptino of a few springers which were back wan! all the stock was disposed of at satisfactory prices. The following being realised:—Fat steers £5 15s to £6 2s 6d; fat cows up to £4 12s 6d; steers 2 years old £2 14s; empty heifers 2 years old £3 ss; 18 month steers 435; 18 month heifers £2 6s 6d; mixed calves 25s to 30s; springers from £3 to £7; wethers 14s 3d to 15s; full mouth ewes with lambs 16s to 16s 9d; pigs 10s 6d to 20s. There was a large entry of sundries which all sold at usual market rate 3.
The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report as follows : At Te Kuiti on Wednesday, October 6th we held our first sale of the season and yarded 1103 head of cattle, mostly well bred sorts. There was a good attendance, fair competition and nearly the wholj of the yarding was quitted. We 11 bred 4 year steers £5 5s to £~> 13s; 3 year steers £4 15s to £5 3s; good 2 1-2 year steers £3 16s to £ i ss; a couple of pens of extra choice steers of this age made £4 14s; 2 year steers £3 5s to £3 10s; eighteen month steers £2 16s to £3; choiceyearling steers £2 10s to £2 12s; 2 year empty heifers £3 to £3 7s Gri; 15 to 18 month heifers £2 7s Gd to £2 17s 6d; fresh cows £3 7s 6d to £4 ; a few dairy cows up to £8; backward springing rHfers £-'!
