CORRESPONDENCE.

! T.> ■::■■ IMit.sr. Sir, I read wt'h rather mixed feelings th»» letter of "Genuine BackBlocker" which appeared in your last issue. With reference to his remarks concerning roads I entirely agree, and '< will certainly assist any movement or i agitation having for its object the ; improvement of our roads. We have been treated badly enough in the past, j and deserve In be treated worse in the future onlcss we do our very fast to ! help ourselves. One part of the letter \ I did not agree with and that was the reference to W.B. and the liquor question. Sorely the columns of the "Chronicle" were just as open to a genuine backblockeras to "W. 8." If a genuine backblocker can write interestingly about anything let him do so. For my part, t always read "W.B's." letters with pleasure, and am sure in saying this I am speaking for a large section of the public. The liquor question may not be as important as roads to the district generally, but it is quite of enough importance to justify the efforts of "W. 8." or of others less able to voice th«»ir thoughts. I regret that the genuine backblocker should have gone out of his way to have a dig at a man who is always upholding the cause of the pioneer, and whose writings are read by a public which reaches from end to end of the Dominion. I have a slight suspicion that "Genuine Backblock Settler" is not quite so genuine as he pretends.—-I am. etc., A TRUE BACKBLOCKER.
