MANCHESTER UNITY 1.0.0.F.. TE KUITI
The usual ffrlniK'nUy :i.<:etinp of the Loyal Te Ktiiti I.or'ge was held on Thursday, September 16th. The Lodge was visited by the District Officers: P.G.M. Bro. McLeod, C.S., P.P.G.M. Bro. Thomas, treasurer and P.D.G.M. Pro. Saunders; also by Bro Lentfer of Loyal Waihi Lodge. The usual business wes discussed, and after the meeting the visiting brothers were the guests at a supper. On Friday a Lodge of the 1.0.0.F.. M.U was opened at Taumarunut. The ceremony was performed by Bro. McLeod, Bro. Thomas, and Bro. Saunders assisted by Bro. Churssn. Wangsuni District: Bro. Morrrll, Loyal Karanga- i hake Ledge; Bro. Lnrrilt, New Plymouth district; Bro. Barker. Bro.Verrall, ar.d Bro. Mc'ndoc, Loyal Te Kuiti Logde; Pro. Searle, Loyal Matamala Lodge; Bro. Lymn, K.S.W. District; Bro. Innis, Lojal Hamilton Lodge, and Bro. Christensen, Loyal Taihape Lodge.
It was decided that the name of the lodge be "Loval Hearts of Oak Lodge."
There were 24 members initiated, and several more proposed, and who will bo initiated next Lodge night which will be Friday, October Ist. The following officers were appointed: \ P.G. Bro. Morrell os G.M.; Bro. Fisher N.G.; Bro. Kelly V.G.: Bro. Searle Permanent Ser.; Bro. Toley E.S.; Bro. Winger Treasurer; Bro. Irvine R.S.N.G.: Bro. Coprland L.S.N.G.; Bro. Robir.<>in R.SM.V.G.; Bro. Bone I L.S.V.G; Bro. Anderson Warden; j Bro. Beid, Guardian; Bro. Wilson, Conductor; Bros. Irvine, Claridge, and Montfrics, Trustees; Bros. Copeland t and Wilson Auditors.
The opening of this Lodge has been brought to a successful issue mainly through the efforts of Bro. Searle and one or two other members of the order. By the enthusiasm shown by the members this lodge has every prospect of becoming a very strong branch of the order. When the benefits accruing by belonging to this order become better known in the district there will be a large increase in the membership. After the close of business a pleasant musical evening was spent during which refreshments were handed round
Mr Clement Wragge states that the umbra of the disturbance named "Creusa" is now affecting the Dominion. Winds from north-east to northwest and west, later shifting to south and blowing in nasty squalls with rising seas. Considerable rain may be expected.
